Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone skipped IIFA Weekend in Macau recently as they had to promote their film “Love Aaj Kal” at the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup in England.But the promotion flopped as defending champions India lost against England and went out of the cricket tournament in the Super 8 stage, something which not many had anticipated.
According to the plan, Saif and Deepika were supposed to cheer the Indian team and even appear in the commentary box for a few matches that India would play.
Incidentally, Saif and Deepika were present at the India vs England match, but after India lost, their tie-up with the tournament came to an abrupt end.
Instead they settled for a press conference in London and returned home after that.
