This is the second time Deepika Padukone has graced the cover of high end fashion magazine Vogue. At a press meet, children and adults alike, waited to get a glimpse of the rising star and her beauty and down-to-earth attitude delighted them. She tells us about her look in Love Aaj Kal.
“In the first half, I have a casual or Western look with jeans, tees, dresses and shorts. In the second half, it’s a more ethnic look with kurtas and churidaars,” said the actress.
Her blue kurta and red churidaar look for Chor Bazaari is becoming quite popular. She said, “I think that look in the song is catching up because it’s so relatable, comfortable and real. It was very important for a love story like this to have real, relatable clothes because we have tried to show relationships like they are in real life. I am styled in the film but the styling is effortless. The clothes, hair and make up cannot distract the viewer from the character or the performances. I think Anaita Shroff-Adajania has done a wonderful job.”
The leggy lass also shared a little incident from the making of the song. “If you have seen the song, you will notice that I am on a table in a dhaba and acting drunk. I was actually drinking Tang, not alcohol and I had to act drunk and dance on a table. All the truck drivers were sitting around the table. Then I had to fall and Saif was supposed to catch me but I don’t know what happened and he probably blanked out at the last minute. Fortunately, he caught my hand somehow and I didn’t fall on my back and was safe,” she laughed.
Deepika had a great time shooting the film. “It was a very friendly atmosphere on the sets, right from Imtiaz to Saif to the assistant directors to the cast members. It was a comfortable ambience and everyone was very well taken care of. That comfort level shows in the movie,” she smiled.
