I read recently on the web that Shilpa Shetty had convinced fiance Raj Kundra not to part with his palatial home at Weybrideg in Surrey in England. Her family has also goven some Feng Shui tips to get the hiuse fixed and Raj has actually fixed the feng shui problems pointed out by Shilpa's mother.
'My mother is trained in feng shui,' says Shilpa, 'and when she came to see the house she walked in with her compass and noticed two big problems.
She said Raj would be losing money for as long as the garden was sloping away from the house. And in the kitchen, the cooker (fire) and the sink (water) were in the wrong place.'
Shilpa says: 'We changed those things and now you can feel the improved energy as you walk around, and it must have worked because Raj's business has never been better.'
Not many women would be happy to move into a house their boyfriend had chosen while he was still with his wife. Most would prefer their partner to make a clean break with the past, especially if he had started renovating the home with her.
It's on the exclusive St George's Hill estate, an enclave for the rich and famous, and Shilpa told Raj to hang on to the property after his marriage hit the rocks.
Shilpa adds: 'There is already a child's bedroom here because Raj has a nephew and I can certainly see my children running around this place. And there is enough space for us to live at one end while Raj's parents live at the other. In Indian culture you live as an extended family and this home is perfect for that.'
An imposing tree-lined driveway leads past a horse statue to the side of the house where Raj parks his luxury car beneath triple balconies that make the most of the garden views.
From the pillared entrance, double doors lead into a grand hall with two reception rooms on the left and steps down to an indoor heated swimming pool.
