Shakira in No Problem?

Anil Kapoor is trying his hardest to get the Latin singer on board No Problem

Anil Kapoor is trying his best to get Latin American performer Shakira to shoot a dance track for Anees Bazmee's No Problem. If he succeeds in his efforts, this will be her first appearance in a B-Town flick.

Says a source close to Anil, "It's not an item number. The film's composer, Pritam has composed a song set to the lyrics of Shakira's Hips Don't Lie. Anil thought it would be great to have the pop singer gyrating to her own song. He is very keen to have Shakira on board and has spoken to Andre in Wizcraft to speak to her."

The source adds that if Shakira agrees the entire star cast -- Anil, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Sunil Shetty, Sushmita Sen, Kangna Ranaut, Neetu Chandra and Paresh Rawal will also perform with the Latin-American singer.

Hips Don't Lie is a remake of Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean's 2004 song Dance Like This. Shakira wrote some parts of the new version, and co-produced. Hips Don't Lie became a global success, topping charts in at least 55 countries. It became Shakira and Wyclef's first (and to date, only) number-one single in the U.S.

The promos of No Problem and Toonpur Ka Super Hero come with Anjaana Anjaani, which releases today. Says a source close to Anil, "It isn't true that Kunal Kohli's Break Ke Baad promo is releasing with AA. No Problem and Toonpur was always supposed to come out with AA. While Toonpur Ka Superhero is a live action animation film directed by Kireet Khurana, produced by Kumar Mangat and Krishika Lulla, and starring Ajay Devgn and Kajol. No Problem is a comic family entertainer."

Meet Kali - The Warrior

After she had the world going Waka Waka with her, Colombian singer Shakira is now set to play the Hindu goddess Kali in a Bollywood project. It seems that Shakira has agreed to star in the movie, though she hasn't officially signed on as yet.

The movie 'Kali - The Warrior Goddess' is going to be in 3D and will have lots of special effects.

The producers wanted an international star for the role, and Shakira was apparently the first choice. Well, now we'll get to see her do something different from those signature belly dancing moves!

Anil Kapoor bowled over by Shakira, Nelson Mandela at FIFA World Cup 2010

Barely hours after Spain won the World Cup, Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor was fatigued and yet euphoric in Johannesburg. He had seen what he called the greatest show on earth. He was bowled over by two people - Nelson Mandela and Shakira.

Being the brand ambassador to South Africa, Anil had a ringside view of the match. And he’s most impressed.

“You have to understand the World Cup final was a self-contained experience. And the way the South African government put it together is exemplary for all, including us Indians who struggle against countless glitches when we host an international sporting event. On Sunday evening here in Johannesburg there were no glitches, no traffic jams on the roads, no seating errors, no jostling and no VIP interventions. Everything went smoothly. I’d describe it as the greatest show on earth,” he told IANS.

Anil was bowled over by Shakira. “What a presence! What a performance! She just took everyone’s collective breath away and set the right mood for the match.”

The match itself was touch and go, and Anil was hooked. “The final moments proved decisive for Spain. I realised what edge-of-the-seat excitement meant. I forgot everything in the final moments of the game, including the fact that I had flown in and had to fly out within 24 hours. It was just 96,000 people staring open-mouthed in a stadium built specially for the occasion.”

But the greatest most moving moment of the match was when Nelson Mandela arrived.

Anil chokes with emotion. “I first met Mandela for my film ‘Gandhi My Father’. But I can never get over my awe and admiration for the man. The elaborate and elegant way he arrived for the match just bowled me over. Because of his grand-daughter’s accident Mandela had not come for any of the other matches. But he made it a point to come for this one because his country hosting something so spectacular was matter of great pride for him. I just kept looking at him wondering how vindicated Mandela must be feeling to see a country he had brought to freedom, celebrating its freedom with such a wonderful event.”

Anil ran into some of his colleagues from Bollywood at the stadium. “It was great meeting Shah Rukh and Gauri, though they sat in a different area from mine. What I really enjoyed was meeting Shah Rukh’s son Aryan for the first time. What a bright goodlooking boy. He sure is a chip off the old block.”

On Monday, Anil was getting ready to return to Mumbai. “I’ve to be back to carry on with the marketing of my daughter’s film. I can’t wait to see its release Aug 6. After that I’m taking a month-long holiday in LA. I think I’ve earned myself a break.”

Shahrukh Khan met popstar Shakira

SRK and family were smitten with the 'gorgeous and gracious' popstar

The whole world is smitten with pop diva Shakira and so is our Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Describing her as "gorgeous and gracious", SRK says he was bowled over by her in South Africa during the just-concluded FIFA World Cup 2010.

"Gorgeous, gracious and absolutely heartwarming Shakira. (She) was so nice to the kids. We are (her) fans for life," Shah Rukh posted on his Twitter page.

The actor even posted a casual picture as well as a family photograph with Shakira.

"...she was so humble and so real. That's why she is such a rockstar...said my name with a beautiful accent too. Have never been more excited to meet a rockstar...the wife and daughter adore her...so do the father and son," he added.

Shah Rukh then posted a tweet to Shakira. It read - "Thank you so much for your graciousness. You are a fabulous star. The kids think of me as a big hero now. May god bless you. Love, Srk."

Shah Rukh, along with his wife Gauri children - Aryan and Suhana - are in South Africa for a vacation and accomodated the FIFA World Cup too. Besides attending the finals and meeting Shakira, the family also enjoyed a night safari and saw all kinds of animals.

Shakira to sing for Bollywood

It's going to be a cabaret 'solo dhamaka' composed by Salim Sulaiman

After Akon for Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Ra.One’, it is now the Latin American sensation Shakira's turn to rock in a Bollywood song. She will sing for a film featuring entrepreneur Sachin Joshi, the key sponsor of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Indian Premier League team. KKR is co-owned by Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla.

To be composed by Salim Sulaiman, the number, a frenzied dance track to be filmed on South African model Candice Boucher, will be recorded in the next couple of months. "It will be a very sensuous cabaret kind of song," said Salim.

Shakira is no stranger to India. In 2007, she performed live in Mumbai and other cities and has repeatedly expressed a desire to be part of the Bollywood film industry.

"Sachin Joshi, who's helming and starring in the project, is in touch with Shakira and she has agreed to sing for Salim-Sulaiman," a source said.

"The lyrics would be in English, but with a smattering of easy Hindi. It won't be a duet like the song Kylie Minogue sang on Tony D'Souza's 'Blue'. It'd be a Shakira solo dhamaka."
