Priyanka gives it back!

If you are planning to send Priyanka Chopra rude and nasty messages on her Twitter account, beware! The actress will snap at you.

PC, who considers her followers on the site to be extended family, believes in giving it back when the situation demands.

She says, "I give it back to them. It's good fun. I don't usually block anyone right away. But if the person is consistently annoying, he's off my list!"

No negatives roles for me says Imran Khan

Imran Khan has said no to Dibakar Banerjee's next because the director offered him a negative role. After the dismal performance of Luck and Kidnap, Imran doesn't want to do any negative roles.

Not at the moment anyway. The success of I Hate Luv Storys has given him the confidence to take on more romantic comedies and loverboy roles. Abhay Deol is now doing the part.

Aamir and Sunil spotted at airport

Our photog snapped Aamir Khan and Sunil Shetty emerging from the 'Arrival' lobby at Mumbai airport.

While AK was returning from Delhi after showing his film Peepli [Live] to the Prime Minister, Anna had flown home from Canada where he'd been shooting for Thank You.

Ever notice how happy people look when they are returning to their home city?

It wasn't me!: Karan Johar

Karan Johar was highly amused at a recent report which spoke about him making Kareena Kapoor wear 'chaddis' in his next film with her and Imran Khan.

"Darling, do you think I am so tacky as to ever use the word chaddi anywhere, forget making my heroines wear things like that?" No darling, we know you don't.

The politically correct and ever-diplomatic KJo will never use rude slang. EVER.

Ranbir Kapoor on the sets of Rockstar in Prague - Photos

Ranbir Kapoor and the Rockstar unit are in Prague shooting for a song. The song has been shot with a local dance group. It shows the actor dancing with gypsies. He has also shot with a carnival group. Incidentally, director Imtiaz Ali likes to bring in local flavour in all his films.
Newcomer Nargis Fakhri would be seen opposite Ranbir Kapoor in this movie. The unit of “Rockstar” recently shot in Prague. While it’s but obvious that Ranbir Kapoor plays the “Rockstar” in the film, however in these images he looks far from being one. Maybe it’s yet another story of a small town boy going on to becoming a “Rockstar”.

Bipasha's new freebie policy

Bipasha Basu, who was just seen in 'Lamhaa' and is also doing a film on honour killings, feels issue-based films should be made with small budgets to make them "commercially viable" and stars shouldn't charge any fee to work in them.

"Don't charge any money for working in such (issue-based) films. It's the only way to make issue-based films commercially viable," said Bipasha, whose 'Lamhaa' dealt with the problems in Kashmir. But it couldn't earn enough profits at the box office.

"After 'Lamhaa' I am tempted to tell a committed filmmaker like Rahul Dholakia to make out-and-out commercial films. Or if you make a film on a social issue then make sure it doesn't go over-budget.

"It's shameful that 'Lamhaa' was so costly. If it was made for Rs.4 crore, it would have been a hit. When a mainstream actor does a film on a social cause, it should be done free of cost as a sign of commitment to society," she added.

Bips will soon be seen in another issued-based film called 'Aakrosh' about honour killings. She plays a schoolteacher in a tradition-bound village and wonders how audiences would react to the movie.

"The social issue, honour killings, is treated like a thriller. Even 'Lamhaa' was treated like a thriller. But how many people went to see it?"

One of the main reasons to sign the film was to get rid of the glamour girl image, says Bipasha.

"For me, the interesting part of doing 'Aakrosh' was to see how far I can get away from my glamorous image. I discovered it was easy for me to do real characters. The director Priyadarshan is a delight to work with. And my co-star is Ajay Devgn who is a good dependable actor. I've another film 'Mr Fraud' with Ajay directed by Abbas-Mustan which got stuck. I don't know if that will ever release."

She will be spending a lot of time in Goa in the coming weeks. First, she will shoot her fitness video on the beaches quickly before winter sets in. Then she will shoot a remix of title song for Rohan Sippy's 'Dum Maro Dum'.

The copyright issues with Dev Anand and his film 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' have apparently been sorted out. Pritam Chakraborty is all set to record a new version of the Asha Bhosle classic.

To some extent 'Dum Maro Dum' too touches on a social evil - it takes up the issue of drugs.

"I can't talk about it right now. But when it happens it will happen. Give it another two weeks," said Bipasha.

Talking about her fitness video, she said: "I want it to be shot outdoors in Goa. Winter gets too crowded. And I've a film to shoot in September. So I've to rush the video. I am going crazy doing my calorie counts. This time I've no team. I am doing everything on my own. It's a little boring to do it by myself. But I've always been a loner."

And, yes, all is well between Bipasha and John Abraham.

"If god forbid, anything were to go wrong between me and John, he would be the loser, not me."

John apparently has plans to insure his body parts, but Bipasha isn't doing any such thing.

"I'm a body person and I am definitely into fitness. But I'd never insure any body part. He's welcome to do what he likes. I just want to know which insurance company is insuring his derriere."

Ash-Abhi skip ‘Raavan’ screening in Venice

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan won't be able to attend the screening of their film ‘Raavan’ at the upcoming 67th Venice Film Festival, due to prior commitments with their brand endorsements.

‘Raavanan’ and ‘Raavan’ - the Tamil and the Hindi versions of the Mani Ratnam film - and Anurag Kashyap's ‘That Girl In Yellow Boots’ will be screened at the festival, starting September 1.

"Aishwarya and Abhishek are not going for the Venice Film Festival as reported in some media outlets. The festival falls on the same dates on which they have previously committed. Aishwarya is going for an event for Longines (as she is the brand ambassador), while Abhishek will be busy with a shoot for Omega in Italy," said a source close to the actors.

"There are other film festivals too - Doha and Pusan - where Abhishek and Aishwarya are being invited, to showcase their film or even for individual honours. But the duo will decide which ones to attend according to their schedules," added the source.

Salman makes Delhi go crazy

Fan frenzy was at its peak when Salman Khan came to a mall in New Delhi to promote his upcoming police drama ‘Dabangg’.
Salman looked great and the hundreds of fans who gathered at DLF Promenade, Vasant Kunj, went berserk on seeing their favourite star.

The fans, who had been waiting for him for more than one-and-a-half-hours, burst into cheers the moment Salman walked in with his co-star Sonakshi Sinha and brother Arbaaz Khan, who has produced the film.

There was lots of clapping and cheering in the overcrowded mall when the star stepped on the dais waving and blowing kisses to his fans, but could barely speak due the noise.

"Maine ek mall mein itni bheed kabhi nahi dekhi (I have never seen so many people in a mall). Love you all," a surprised Salman told his fans.

People were seen pushing and jostling each other to get a closer look at the star. When the actor spotted a mother carrying a small child in the maddening crowd, a concerned Salman told the bouncers: "Please take care of the child and the mother."

Then he spotted an old lady patiently waiting for him in the crowd and called her to join him on the stage.

Salman even entertained audiences by performing the song ‘Tere mast mast do nain’ from ‘Dabangg’, which is releasing September 10.

He even distributed the aviators he has worn in the film and the first one to receive this was the little girl in her mother's lap.

Kareena wants to work with Aamir again

Kareena Kapoor and Aamir Khan's sizzling chemistry in '3 Idiots' ought to be repeated, and we're not the only ones who think so. Kareena says she wants to team up with Aamir once again.

"I want to work with Aamir, but he is not doing any film for a year," Kareena said.

Bebo's also very keen that boyfriend Saif Ali Khan should work with '3 Idiots' director Rajkumar Hirani.

"I always tell him (Saif) that he should work with Raju Hirani," she added.

Big B warns abusive blogger

Amitabh Bachchan, who filed a police complaint against an unknown person who had been sending derogatory and abusive messages on his blog and mobile phone, revealed today (August 30) that the police is investigating the matter.

"The Police has been informed of this grave and insidious act and many of the level of commissioner and equal rank who are personal friends have been wanting to seek more information, have been incensed and are in action.

"Soon there shall be a sharing of details, not just in India but in the country of its origin," Bachchan posted on his blog.

Ever since the news was made public yesterday (August 29), the 67-year-old received many supportive messages from friends and well-wishers.

"The media picked up our blog and spread it out into the world of information and now for the entire day there has been a barrage of messages of support, of wanting to catch the culprits and take them to task, of grave indignation and of being incensed by this show of absolute garbage that has been directed towards me," he wrote.

The actor said he will never spare anyone who talks ill about his family.

"There is a limit to which this can be tolerated. I can be a gentleman up to a point. But beyond that I shall stop being one. You go to the level of so much as touching my family and little innocent grand children and you shall have to pay extremely dearly," he posted.

Indian PM watches 'Peepli Live'

Manmohan Singh and his family had Aamir for company at the special screening.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Sunday (August 29) evening watched Aamir Khan's production 'Peepli Live' at his 7 Race Course Road residence, an official said.

"Dr. Singh watched the film with interest," the official in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said after the special screening of the film.

'Peepli Live' is a political satire based on farmers' suicides and the superfluous approach by media on issue.

Manmohan Singh's wife Gursharan Kaur, his family members and some close friends also watched the film at the special screening.

Aamir, the film's director Anusha Rizvi, distributor Ronnie Screwala and actors Raghuvir Yadav and Omkar Das Manikpuri were also present, the official said.

According to Congress sources, several party leaders had recommended the film to the prime minister.

Earlier, Aamir had held a screening of 'Peepli Live' for senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader L K Advani and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray.

Akshay's fave scripts have been his biggest flops

Akshay Kumar says that even though he chooses his scripts carefully, sometimes they turn out to be major flops at the box office.

"I do read my scripts. In fact, I always have several script-reading sessions before I fully take on a movie. But remember, I cannot predict the future. Some of my favourite scripts have been my biggest flops, but they have sometimes been my greatest successes also," Akshay posted on his Facebook page in response to a fan's query.

The fan also asked the actor why he doesn't get best actor awards even after featuring in so many films.

"I do so many, many more movies than any other actor in Bollywood. Therefore my gamble is much higher. I would rather entertain my audience than ever win an award. It's the people I want to please, not those attending award ceremonies," Akki wrote.

Bollywood’s ready for 3D

Hollywood's buzzing with it and now it's time for some cool hi-tech action in Bollywood as well.

To give a first-hand experience of live 3D filmmaking and associated technologies to the film fraternity, Panasonic organised a two-day conclave called Dimensions in Mumbai recently. And guess who was most enthusiastic about it? Karan Johar himself.

KJo said, "I am so excited that the 3D technology is now available to filmmakers like myself. It will literally add a new dimension to our story telling and creative expression. We all acknowledge the influence of this medium and with 3D captivating the audience so much more, there is going to be a new revolution in movie making. I'm sure the next 3D blockbuster movie just like Avatar is going to come from India."

Introducing the brand's internationally acclaimed 'camera to couch' 3D solutions, Daizo Ito, President, Panasonic India, said, "Panasonic has been the harbinger of new technology for several decades now. With Indian creativity getting applauded across the world, it becomes imperative for our company to make available the latest movie-making and broadcast technology in India."

Added Manish Sharma, Director Marketing, "Given the increasing success of 3D internationally, we are happy to bring this technology to India. We take pride in our association with the Indian film fraternity, and this latest technology innovation will serve to further strengthen the relationship."

Big B faces online abuse

Amitabh Bachchan says an unknown person has been sending derogatory and abusive material on his blog and mobile phone. After enduring it for months, he has filed a police complaint.

"There is a serious effort by a member that writes and comments on this blog to use language and expression that is abusive, filthy and utterly disgusting," Big B wrote on his bigb.bigadda.com.

"I have brought this to the notice of the authorities and (sought) corrective measures to see none of the stuff that comes from this foul mouthed individual shall ever be allowed on this platform. Any further attempt from this person shall now be under legal cyber space action, now very prominently activated in the country.

"This blog, this platform, this home for our extended family members is a sacred and revered destination and any attempt to defile it shall be dealt with in the most severe manner," he added.

Amitabh further revealed he is also receiving derogatory messages on his phone.

"Further more. This individual has been sending me the most unprintable abuse on SMS on my phone. I have, after great tolerance for months, reported the matter to the police and they will be taking serious punitive action, not just in my country but in the country of the origin of these missives."

Salman backtracks on Katrina split?

Salman Khan is mad at the media again. After he reportedly said in a TV interview that he had split with Katrina Kaif, and Katrina also confirmed that she was single, there's a new twist in the tale. It seems Salman is now saying that only portions of the original interview where he spoke about Kat were aired, and that he never said that he and Katrina had split up.

He's made it clear that the relationship he shares with Kat is nobody's business. The star even got angry when asked to clarify their current relationship status. But he also said that he wasn't bothered by the media frenzy following his and Kat's comments.

So does Sallu want to make amends with Katrina? We'll be on the lookout for answers! Watch this space for updates.

Kunal's not replacing Arjun in 'Don 2'

Kunal Kapoor is disappointed and upset. And it's all because of the stories that he replaced model-turned-actor Arjun Rampal in the thriller 'Don 2'.

Buzz was that Arjun's character Jasjeet will be now played by the 34-year-old Kunal, who has dismissed the reports.

"This is not true. I haven't replaced Arjun in 'Don 2'. It is very disappointing and upsetting," said Kunal.

"His character doesn't exist in the film and mine is a fresh character altogether," he added.

Arjun reportedly moved out of the movie on financial grounds. The sequel retains the original cast that includes Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Boman Irani.

Meanwhile, Kunal has also been learning to fly a single engine Cessna 172 at Sagar in Madhya Pradesh since the last two years. He is now "finally" waiting to get his licence.

"I am going there next month. I am still 20 hours away, so I'll finish that and probably finally get my licence," Kunal said.

Last seen in 'Lamhaa', Kunal's other future projects include 'Doga' and 'Chamkila'.

Drugs scandal rumours anger Trisha

South Indian actress Trisha Krishnan, who made her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar in 'Khatta Meetha', is angry after her name was dragged in a drug scandal and thinks it's an attempt to tarnish her image.

A report on a Telugu channel claimed that Trisha's name featured in the list of clients of a Nigerian drug dealer. All because she has a very close friend of African origin - dress designer Sidney Sladen.

But Trisha is not willing to take it lying down.

"It's very strange. I was shooting in Kodaikanal when this Telugu news channel put this news out. And they put a still of me and this very dear friend of mine who's Afro-American. They assumed that this fashion-designer friend of mine was some drug peddler from Nigera," a fuming Trisha said from Chennai.

"I was angry. This is not just a harmless rumour. The first thing I did was to get my lawyer to issue statements to all the TV channels. I've taken legal action against the channel which put this out. There is not an element of truth in it. It's strange where this story came from. I haven't been to Hyderabad for a year now. I was told this peddler knows my number. But come on, everyone knows my number," the pretty actress said.

Trisha thinks this an attempt to malign her name in the Telugu film industry.

"The only problem is you can't pinpoint such a thing to any one source. But yes, it seems to have been done to tarnish my image. Luckily I've got a lot of support in Hyderabad even from the authorities," she said.

Salman Khan paints Mother St. Teresa's portrait to celebrate her 100th birth anniversary

That Salman is a great actor is anybody's guess. That Salman is a great human being, is something that all the recipients of his affection will vouch for, so much so that Salman also has a NGO dedicated to the same cause called as 'Being Human'.

But Salman being a great painter is something that is proven with each passing day. Yes, you heard it right. Even though he maybe the proverbial 'bad boy' of Bollywood, his paintings say something else! Salman's emotional side can quite clearly be visible from his paintings. Amongst the other 'testimonials', we bring you with yet another Masterpiece of a painting by Sallu. This time, Salman has painted the portrait of Mother Teresa, whose 100th birthday is being planned to be celebrated all over the world this year. As a token of his love and respect to the eternal Mother, Salman has painted this portrait, a picture of which he posted on twitter recently. Needles to say, it's a piece de resistance indeed!

Hrithik's son breaks hearts

Hrithik Roshan's older son Hrehaan is quite a heart breaker we hear.

Apparently, Hrehaan is a good-looking child and very reserved quite like daddy. And guess who is a fan of this superstar-son? The parents of his class-mates! On PTA (parents-teacher association) day Hrehaan gets a lot of attention from visiting parents. But the child keeps to himself. Sounds exactly like papa doesn't he.

Housefull on television without 'Apni Toh Jaise Taise' song?

Well, that's the question that everybody seems to be asking about the Sajid Khan's hit film Housefull that's all set to have its worldwide television premiere on August 29, 2010. When the film was released in theatres earlier this year, it had the remix version of the yesteryear's famous track 'Apni Toh Jaise Taise' (from the late Prakash Mehra's hit film Laawaris), which later on became the reason for a controversy that's dodging the film till today.

Prakash Mehra's son, Puneet Mehra, objected to the usage of the song in Housefull saying the producers had not taken rights for the same. While the makers of the film claimed that they had purchased the song rights from the music label Sa Re Ga Ma. The issue was however settled and the film released in theatres with the song.

Coming to the television premiere of the film, Puneet again moved to court objecting on the usage of the song in TV premiere of the film. A High Court ruling was passed in Kolkata yesterday stating that Housefull cannot be aired on television if the song in question is not deleted from the film. Eros reportedly has decided to go ahead with the telecast of the film without the song. However, official confirmation of the same is awaited.

Shahrukh Khan joined Arjun and Kareena in press meet to promote We Are Family

Shah Rukh Khan has decided he will be part of every Karan Johar production in some capacity or the other. In I Hate LUV Storys, Shah Rukh did a small voiceover. Unfortunately, he couldn't be accommodated anywhere in We Are Family although SRK was quite adamant to feature somehow.

"Ek photo hi daal do kisi shot mein," he kept urging Karan.

Not one to give up even when his wish has gone way past its fulfilment phase, SRK barged in sportingly at a media meet with Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal and insisted on conducting an interview with the pair...

"Just as a good luck charm," as SRK put it.

On Wednesday afternoon SRK just decided to drop in at the venue of the interview and said, "Even I am part of the family. So I'm joining them to promote the film."

Director Siddharth Malhotra can't get over the magic of the moment. "It is such gestures that make Shah Rukh who he is. It is his ability to make people feel special that makes him the superstar and the King."

Siddharth had entered the media meet when he saw an exceptional bustle at the venue. He jokingly asked what the clamour was about.

"SRK aa gaya kya? I asked sarcastically. Imagine my surprise when someone turned around and said that's precisely what has happened and that SRK was doing an interview with Kareena and Arjun for my film."

One now hears that SRK will make his presence felt in all of Karan Johar's films on one way or another.

Says Karan, "Shah Rukh is just about the most generous human being I know."

Aamir has kept his 'Rancho' costume

Aamir Khan has confessed he keeps the costumes of all the characters he plays in films, even the clapboards.

Aamir has kept the costumes of Rancho, the character he essayed in the superhit '3 Idiots', as well as the clapboards, as he has done for all his films.

"You know I keep the clapboards of all my films. On the last day of the shoot, I collect it, even the costumes," Aamir told reporters at the DVD launch of '3 Idiots'.

Asked if he would produce Marathi films, he said: "I would be happy to produce Marathi films. The story and script should touch my heart. Language is not the problem. I would love to produce Gujarati, Bhojpuri. The beauty of our country is that we have around 22 languages and in every language we make films and there are television channels in every language, which you won't find in anywhere else. I would be happy to make films in other language also."

The superstar said he wishes he could have shown '3 Idiots' to his favourite directors -Guru Dutt, Mehboob and Raj Kapoor.

"Guru Dutt, Mehboobji and Raj Kapoor, I would have liked them to see this film (3 Idiots)," Aamir said.

In the last 10 years, the actor has give some major hits like 'Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India' (2001), 'Dil Chahta Hai' (2001), 'Rang De Basanti' (2006), 'Fanaa' (2006), 'Ghajini' (2008).

The actor maintains that every film is a collective effort and the key person is the director of the film.

"One thing that all should remember is that the main thing of a film is the collective effort, and the most important person of a film is the director. Till now if so many of my films have become successful, its bigger share of credit goes to the director.

"Like in '3 Idiots' Raju (Rajkumar Hirani), Abhijat (Joshi) have a huge contribution, after that we all have put in our best, that's why you liked '3 Idiots' so much. So I don't solely take the credit behind the success of the film, it's a collective effort of every single person associated with the film."
